Abstract

This exemption permits the sale by the Fund of real property to the Mid-America Carpenters Regional Council (the Sale). Without this exemption, the Sale would be prohibited by the Employee Retirement Income Security Act of 1974 (ERISA).

SUPPLEMENTARY INFORMATION: The Exemption: The exemption permits the Sale of 1.13 acres of improved real property (the Parcel), which is a portion of a 5.67-acre parcel of real property located at 8955 E Terrace, Kansas City, Missouri (the Real Property), by the Fund to the Mid-America Carpenters Regional Council (MACRC). [ 1 ] The MACRC will pay the estimated value of both the Parcel and the wellness center ($3.4 million) to the Fund and the MACRC will receive a credit for approximately $3.18 million that the MACRC spent on construction costs, resulting in approximately $220,000 of net proceeds being received by the Fund at closing.
