Department of Energy Federal Energy Regulatory Commission [Docket No. CP26-175-000] On April 1, 2026, Texas Eastern Transmission, LP (Texas Eastern) filed an application in Docket No. CP26-175-000 requesting an Authorization pursuant to Section 7(b) and 7(c) of the Natural Gas Act to abandon by removal four existing 8,000 horsepower turbine units and associated infrastructure and to install two 20,470 horsepower new Solar Titan 130 turbine units and related ancillary equipment. The new units would be installed in a new compressor building within the fenceline of the existing Athens Compressor Station located in Athens County, Ohio. The project would expand compression facilities to provide an additional 50,000 dekatherms per day (Dth/d) of incremental firm natural gas transportation capacity on Texas Eastern's pipeline system to serve Kentucky Utilities. On April 14, 2026, the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (Commission or FERC) issued its Notice of Application (NOA) for the project. Among other things, that notice alerted agencies issuing federal authorizations of the requirement to complete all necessary reviews and to reach a final decision on a request for a federal authorization within 90 days of the date of issuance of the Commission staff's environmental document for the project. This notice identifies Commission staff's intention to prepare an environmental assessment (EA) for the project and the planned schedule for the completion of the environmental review. [
