SUMMARY: The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (Commission or CPSC) is reviewing its regulations to reduce regulatory burdens and costs. Pursuant to this review, CPSC has identified several obsolete or unnecessary provisions that are being removed or amended in this direct final rule. The changes in this rule will not affect consumer safety. DATES: The rule is effective on September 21, 2026, unless the Commission receives a significant adverse comment by August 24, 2026. If the Commission receives such a comment, it will publish a notice in the Federal Register , withdrawing any portion of this direct final rule related to such a comment before its effective date.
