SUPPLEMENTARY INFORMATION: By Presidential Proclamation No. 5030 made on March 10, 1983, the United States established an exclusive economic zone, within which the United States may exercise its sovereign rights and jurisdiction as permitted under international law. The outer limit of the exclusive economic zone extends to a maximum distance of 200 nautical miles from the baseline from which the breadth of the territorial sea is measured. The Department of State on behalf of the Government of the United States hereby announces updated information pertaining to the outer limits of the exclusive economic zone of the United States of America.
