SUMMARY: The Coast Guard is establishing a temporary safety zone for navigable waters of the Savannah River around Savannah, GA for the Savannah's Waterfront New Year's Eve event. The safety zone is needed to protect personnel, vessels, and the marine environment from potential hazards created by fallout from the fireworks display. Entry of vessels or persons into this zone is prohibited unless specifically authorized by the Captain of the Port (COTP) Savannah or a designated representative. DATES: This rule is effective from 11 p.m. on December 31, 2022, through 00:30 a.m., on January 1, 2023.
