ACTION: Notice of proposed rulemaking and announcement of public meeting. SUMMARY: The Energy Policy and Conservation Act, as amended, prescribes energy conservation standards for various consumer products and certain commercial and industrial equipment, including electric motors. In this notice of proposed rulemaking (“NOPR”), the Department of Energy (DOE) proposes to establish energy conservation standards for dedicated-purpose pool pump motors, a category of electric motors, and also announces a public meeting to receive comment on these proposed standards and associated analyses and results. DATES:   Comments: DOE will accept comments, data, and information regarding this NOPR no later than August 22, 2022. Comments regarding the likely competitive impact of the proposed standard should be sent to the Department of Justice contact listed in the ADDRESSES section on or before July 21, 2022.
