SUMMARY: On March 3, 2022, the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) requested comments on the proposed amendments to its regulations that relate to the decommissioning of production and utilization facilities. The public comment period was originally scheduled to close on May 17, 2022. The NRC is extending the public comment period to allow more time for members of the public to develop and submit their comments. DATES: The comment period for the proposed rule published March 3, 2022 at 87 FR 12254 is extended. Comments should be filed no later than August 30, 2022. Comments received after this date will be considered, if it is practical to do so, but the NRC is able to ensure consideration only for comments received on or before this date.
