Abstract

In this document, the Federal Communications Commission (the FCC or Commission) seeks comment on several recommendations made by the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) to revise the Emergency Alert System (EAS) rules to delete outdated references, re-name certain EAS terms to enhance public awareness, and update EAS capabilities for alerts that are persistent during certain extreme emergencies.
