SUMMARY: The Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA) announces its decision to grant Grote Industries, LLC's (Grote) application for a limited 5-year exemption to allow motor carriers operating trailers and van body trucks to install amber brake-activated pulsating warning lamps on the rear of trailers and van body trucks in addition to the steady-burning brake lamps required by the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations (FMCSRs). The Agency has determined that granting the exemption would likely achieve a level of safety equivalent to or greater than the level of safety provided by the regulation. DATES: This exemption is effective December 7, 2020 and ending December 2, 2025.
