SUMMARY: This document denies a petition for reconsideration of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard (FMVSS) No. 305, “Electric-powered vehicles; electrolyte spillage, and electrical shock protection” from Nissan Motor Company (Nissan) requesting the use of a megohmmeter as an alternative measurement method for the electrical isolation test procedure. Further, this ( printed page 2321) document adopts various technical corrections and clarifications to the regulatory text of FMVSS No. 305 that do not change the substance of the rule.
