Add Yucatan Peninsula to the List of Regions Considered Free of Exotic Newcastle Disease

Agriculture Department, Animal and Plant Health Inspection Service

Abstract

We are proposing to amend the regulations by adding the Mexican States of Campeche, Quintana Roo, and Yucatan to the list of regions considered free of exotic Newcastle disease. We have conducted a risk evaluation and have determined that these three Yucatan Peninsula States have met our requirements for being recognized as free of this disease. This proposed action would allow importation into the United States of poultry and poultry products from these regions and would eliminate restrictions that no longer appear necessary.
