Security Zones; Captain of the Port Buffalo Zone

Abstract

The Coast Guard proposes to establish four permanent security zones on the navigable waters of Lake Ontario and the St. Lawrence River in the Captain of the Port Buffalo Zone. These security zones are necessary to protect nuclear power plants and the St. Lawrence Seaway system from possible acts of terrorism. These security zones are intended to restrict vessel traffic from a portion of the St. Lawrence River and Lake Ontario.
