Jensen, Inc. 3050 Metro Dr. Suite #300 Minneapolis, MN 55425 RE: The tariff classification of decorative glass articles from China Dear Ms. Schaeffer: In your letter, dated November 21, 2005, you requested a tariff classification ruling regarding decorative glass articles. Each product consists of colored glass held together by copper. Each piece has a hook which will allow the decorative article to be hung on the wall or hung in a window as a suncatcher. You stated that the value of each article is over five dollars. When these decorative glass articles are colored prior to solidification and contain bubbles, seeds or stones, the applicable subheading for the merchandise will be 7013.99.1000, Harmonized Tariff Schedule of the United States (HTS), which provides for glassware of a kind used for table, kitchen, toilet, office, indoor decoration or similar purposes…other glassware: other: glassware colored prior to solidification, and characterized by random distribution of numerous bubbles, seeds or stones throughout the mass of the glass. The rate of duty will be 15 percent ad valorem. When the decorative glass articles are not colored prior to solidification or do not contain bubbles, seeds or stones, the applicable subheading for the merchandise will be 7013.99.9000, HTS, which provides for glassware of a kind used for table, kitchen, toilet, office, indoor decoration or similar purposes…other glassware: other: other: other: valued over three dollars each: other: valued over five dollars each. The rate of duty will be 7.2 percent ad valorem. Duty rates are provided for your convenience and are subject to change. This ruling is being issued under the provisions of Part 177 of the Customs Regulations (19 C.F.R. 177).
