NY R01635 April 5, 2005 CLA-2-73:RR:NC:N1:113 R01635 CATEGORY: Classification TARIFF NO.: 7326.90.8587 Mr. Dennis Forhart PrisewaterhouseCoopers LLP 420 Fifth Ave. Suite1900 Seattle, WA 98101 RE: The tariff classification of automotive clamps Dear Mr. Forhart: In your letter dated January 25, 2005, received in this office on March 16, 2005, on behalf of Freightliner LLC, you requested a tariff classification ruling. The merchandise is a variety of clamps used in the exhaust pipe assembly of a heavy-duty truck. Part A04-12096-004 is a clamp exhaust band of stainless steel. Part 01-14596-004 is a clamp-V band of stainless steel. Part FG 89548C is a 4-inch U-bolt CHR clamp of stainless steel. Part IDL 5780 is a hose clamp of stainless steel. Part 23-122231-006 is a hose clamp, slotted and cushioned, of carbon steel and rubber. The applicable subheading for the clamps will be 7326.90.8587, Harmonized Tariff Schedule of the United States (HTS), which provides for other articles of iron or steel, other. The rate of duty will be 2.9 percent ad valorem. This ruling is being issued under the provisions of Part 177 of the Customs Regulations (19 C.F.R. 177). A copy of the ruling or the control number indicated above should be provided with the entry documents filed at the time this merchandise is imported.
