Dear Ms. Lucas: In your letter dated December 09, 2019, you requested a tariff classification ruling. The subject merchandise is “Frozen Seafood Jambalaya” composed of Basmati rice (26.32 percent), vegetables (33.32 percent), squid (9.03 percent), Pollock (6.61 percent), shrimps (4.63 percent) and Jambalaya source (20.09 percent). The product will be packed in an airtight plastic package with a net weight of 1-pound (454 gram). There will be 12 packets of “Seafood Jambalaya” per each carton. The “Frozen Seafood Jambalaya” will be imported for sale specifically to the supermarket chain Aldi. The applicable subheading for the “Frozen Seafood Jambalaya” will be 1605.54.0500, Harmonized Tariff Schedule of the United States (HTSUS), which provides for “Crustaceans, molluscs and other aquatic invertebrates, prepared or preserved: Molluscs: Cuttle fish and squid: Products containing fish meat; prepared meals” The rate of duty will be Free.
