Dear Mr. Chong: In your letter dated September 30, 2016 you requested a tariff classification ruling on behalf of The Climate Museum. The subject merchandise is described as Blocks of Glacier Ice. The ice will be sourced from Greenland and shipped to New York where it will be made into sculptures for exhibition across the New York area. In total, 68 Blocks of Glacier Ice, at a total weight of 1500 tonnes, will be imported into the United States. Each block will range in size from 0.2 tonnes to 25 tonnes. The applicable subheading for the Blocks of Glacier Ice will be 2201.90.0000, Harmonized Tariff Schedule of the United States (HTSUS), which provides for Waters, including natural or artificial mineral waters and aerated waters, not containing added sugar or other sweetening matter nor flavored; ice and snow: Other. The general rate of duty will be Free. Duty rates are provided for your convenience and are subject to change.
