N275532 May 31, 2016 CLA-2-33:OT:RR:NC:N4:414 CATEGORY: Classification TARIFF NO.: 3307.49.0000 Mr. Jeffery Smith Universal Logistics Solutions International 14701 Harrison Road Romulus Road, MI 48174 RE: The tariff classification of charcoal-filled air purifying bags from China Dear Mr. Smith: In your letter dated April 27, 2016, you requested a tariff classification ruling on behalf of your client, Discount Tobacco DBA Beamer Hookah. The ruling was requested on two styles of charcoal-filled air purifying bags. Two representative samples were submitted for our review. The samples will be retained for future reference. The submitted samples measure approximately 5 inches in width by 6 ½ inches in length and 6 ½ inches in length by 2 ¼ inches in width and each consists of bamboo charcoal that has been sealed in a stitched linen textile covering. Each purifying bag is sold in individual retail packaging. The charcoal bags are used to eliminate and absorb odors in rooms and in cars. The applicable subheading for the charcoal-filled air purifying bags will be 3307.49.0000, Harmonized Tariff Schedule of the United States (HTSUS), which provides for Preparations for perfuming or deodorizing rooms, including odoriferous preparations used during religious rites: Other. The rate of duty will be 6 percent ad valorem. Duty rates are provided for your convenience and are subject to change.
