Omeprazole Sodium Bicarbonate is a medicinal preparation in capsule form, containing Omeprazole (a proton-pump inhibitor) and Sodium Bicarbonate (antacid), as the active ingredients. It is indicated for the treatment of ulcers, gastroesophageal reflux disease (heartburn) and erosive esophagitis. Omeprazole Sodium Bicarbonate will be imported packed ready for retail sale in dosage form. The applicable subheading for the Omeprazole Sodium Bicarbonate in dosage form will be 3004.90.9160, Harmonized Tariff Schedule of the United States (HTSUS), which provides for “Medicaments … consisting of mixed or unmixed products for therapeutic or prophylactic uses, put up in measured doses … or in forms or packings for retail sale: Other: Other: Other: Medicaments primarily affecting the digestive system: Other.” The rate of duty will be free.
