Hyatt Vice President The Irwin Brown Company 212 Chartres Street New Orleans, LA 70130 RE: The tariff classification of pouches from China Dear Mr. Hyatt: In your letter dated May 19, 2015 and revised on June 3, 2015, you requested a tariff classification ruling. You have submitted samples, which we are returning to you. The samples are identified as item number 20003. They are generic pouches. The pouches are designed to provide organization, protection, portability, and storage to their contents. The pouches are constructed with an outer surface of Tyvek®, a man-made textile material. The interior of the pouches has one lined interior compartment with an opening at the top that is secured with a zipper closure. Each pouch measures approximately 7” (W) x 3.5” (H). The applicable subheading for the pouches, item number 20003, will be 4202.92.3031, Harmonized Tariff Schedule of the United States (HTSUS), which provides for travel, sports and similar bags, with outer surface of textile materials, other, of man-made fibers, other. The duty rate will be 17.6% ad valorem. Duty rates are provided for your convenience and are subject to change. This ruling is being issued under the provisions of Part 177 of the Customs Regulations (19 C.F.R. 177).
