N257278 September 30, 2014 CLA-2-63:OT:RR:NC:N3:351 CATEGORY: Classification TARIFF NO.: 6307.90.9889 Ms. Jacquelyn Votra Trans-Border Global Freight Systems 2103 Route 9 Round Lake, NY 12151 RE: The tariff classification of a convertible garment/laundry bag from China Dear Ms. Votra: In your letter dated September 11, 2014, you requested a tariff classification ruling on behalf of your client, Cleaner’s Supply, Incorporated, of Conklin, New York. You have submitted photographs of a product you call a Converta Bag, item #8217. The household convertible laundry and storage bag is made up of non-woven polypropylene textile fabric. When the item is used as a laundry bag to hold dirty clothing in the home, a drawstring closes the Converta Bag near the top. For cleaned clothing, the Converta Bag drawstring is pulled completely open. The Converta Bag can now be used as a garment bag. Cleaned clothing on hangers can be placed inside through the top. The hanger loops are pushed through a small opening, then the sides of the bag are crossed over and closed. The applicable subheading for the Converta Bag item #8217, will be 6307.90.9889, Harmonized Tariff Schedule of the United States, (HTSUS), which provides for other made up textile articles, other. The rate of duty will be 7% ad valorem. Duty rates are provided for your convenience and are subject to change.
