Dear Ms. Bertelson: In your letter dated May 1, 2014, you requested a tariff classification ruling. Style 7200 is a PVC dip coated gauntlet glove which you state is constructed from 41% cotton, 30% aramid, 15% steel, 14% spandex knit fabric. The glove measures approximately 13½ inches. You have indicated that the weight of the coating is over 50% of the weight of the glove. The applicable subheading for this style will be 6116.10.6500, Harmonized Tariff Schedule of the United States (HTSUS), which provides for gloves, mittens and mitts, knitted or crocheted: impregnated, coated or covered with plastics or rubber: other: without fourchettes: other. The duty rate will be 7% ad valorem. The sample will be returned to you under separate cover. Duty rates are provided for your convenience and are subject to change.
