Burr Blvd. Teaneck, NJ 07450 RE: The tariff classification of “AR-2000(T) L6700F Blue UDP” from Japan Dear Mr. Harada: In your letter received November 1, 2013, you requested a tariff classification ruling on “AR-2000(T) L6700F Blue UDP.” You have indicated that the product at issue is an automobile paint primer intended to be used by the U.S. automotive industry. The applicable subheading for “Surfdine SD 7000HM R-5” will be 3209.10.0000, Harmonized Tariff Schedule of the United States (HTSUS), which provides for Paint and varnishes (including enamels and lacquers) based on synthetic polymers or chemically modified natural polymers, dispersed or dissolved in an aqueous medium: Based on acrylic or vinyl polymers. The general rate of duty will be 5.1 percent ad valorem. This merchandise may be subject to the requirements of the Toxic Substances Control Act (TSCA), which are administered by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency.
