Connelly, Esq. 67 South Bedford St. Suite 400 West Burlington, MA 01803 RE: The tariff classification of a Printed Circuit Board/wire Harness Module from India Dear Ms. Connelly: In your letter dated September 24, 2013, on behalf of your client Control Devices a division of Stoneridge, Inc., you requested a tariff classification ruling. A sample was submitted with your letter and will be returned to you. The Printed Circuit Board (PCB)/wire Harness Module is comprised of a printed circuit board enclosed in a zinc housing with a connector and a wire harness attached. The housing measures approximately 3 inches tall by 2 3/4 inches wide by1 inch deep. The wire harness measures approximately 36 inches long. The PCB contains several circuit blocks, which consist of various components such as, Mos-Fets (electronic switches), resistors, capacitors and voltage regulators and other active components. It is stated that the PCB/wire harness module will be used as a power source for an automobile Soot Sensor that will be manufactured in the Ohio facility. The applicable subheading for the Printed Circuit Board/wire Harness Module will be 8537.10.9070, Harmonized Tariff Schedule of the United States (HTSUS), which provides for "Boards, panels, consoles, desks, cabinets and other bases, equipped with two or more apparatus of 8535 or 8536, for electric control or the distribution of electricity…: For a voltage not exceeding 1,000 V: Other: Other: Other." The general rate of duty will be 2.7 percent ad valorem. Duty rates are provided for your convenience and are subject to change.
