N245007 September 4, 2013 CLA-2-42:OT:RR:NC:N4:441 CATEGORY: Classification TARIFF NO.: 4202.92.9026 Adam Lees Panalpina Inc. 1000A Castle Road Secaucus, NJ 07094 RE: The tariff classification of laptop computer sleeves from China Dear Mr. Lees: In your letter dated August 7, 2013, you requested a tariff classification ruling on behalf of Paper Rain, Inc. You have submitted samples which we are returning to you. Article 27812 is a laptop sleeve constructed with an outer surface of 100% nylon textile material. The sleeve is specially shaped and fitted to contain one laptop computer. It is designed to provide storage, protection, organization, and portability to the laptop. It has one storage compartment with an open top. The laptop sleeve measures approximately 13” (W) x 9.5” (H). Article 27846 is a laptop sleeve constructed with an outer surface of 100% nylon textile material. The sleeve is specially shaped and fitted to contain one laptop computer. It is designed to provide storage, protection, organization, and portability to the laptop. It has one storage compartment with a top zipper closure. The laptop sleeve measures approximately 10.5” (W) x 15” (H). The applicable subheading for the laptop sleeves will be 4202.92.9026, Harmonized Tariff Schedule of the United States (HTSUS), which provides for other containers and cases, with outer surface of sheeting of plastics or of textile materials, other, other, with outer surface of textile materials, of man-made fibers. The duty rate will be 17.6 percent ad valorem. Duty rates are provided for your convenience and are subject to change. This ruling is being issued under the provisions of Part 177 of the Customs Regulations (19 C.F.R. 177).
