Persinger Saks Fifth Avenue 500 Hickory Drive Aberdeen, MD 21001 RE: The tariff classification of a woman’s dress from the United Kingdom Dear Ms. Persinger: In your letter dated June 5, 2013, you requested a tariff classification ruling. Your sample will be returned as requested. Style 2815BNG is a woman’s dress constructed from 41% polyester, 34% silk, and 25% cotton woven fabric. The front of the dress is covered with acrylic beads forming a grid-like pattern. The sleeveless dress extends from the shoulders to the knee area and features a partial back opening with a zipper closure and a hemmed bottom. The applicable subheading for style 2815BNG will be 6204.43.2000, Harmonized Tariff Schedule of the United States (HTSUS), which provides for Women’s or girls’ suits, ensembles, suit-type jackets, blazers, dresses, skirts, divided skirts, trousers, bib and brace overalls, breeches and shorts (other than swimwear): Dresses: Of synthetic fibers: Other: Containing 30 percent or more by weight of silk or silk waste. The rate of duty will be 7.1 percent ad valorem. Duty rates are provided for your convenience and are subject to change.
