Robinson International, Inc. 411 108th Avenue NE, Suite 2150 Bellevue, WA 98004 RE: The tariff classification of a travel case from China Dear Ms. Pate: In your letter dated May 2, 2013, you requested a tariff classification ruling. You have submitted a sample, which is being returned to you. You have identified your sample as the “Fly Tying Travel Case,” item FSH-ORG-1025-HF. The case is constructed with an outer surface of polyester textile material. It is a specially shaped and fitted travel case designed to organize, store, protect, and transport fly fishing thread spools and accompanying fishing tools. The interior compartment has a textile lining. It features several elastic loops on one side of the case. The other side of the case has eight removable plastic pockets and numerous textile pockets and loops. The case has a three-sided zipper closure and one handle. It measures approximately 11” (W) x 9” (H) x 3.5” (D). The applicable subheading for the travel case will be 4202.92.3031, Harmonized Tariff Schedule of the United States (HTSUS), which provides for travel, sports, and similar bags, with outer surface of textile materials, other, of man-made fibers, other. The duty rate will be 17.6 percent ad valorem. Duty rates are provided for your convenience and are subject to change. This ruling is being issued under the provisions of Part 177 of the Customs Regulations (19 C.F.R. 177).
