Box 3165 Harrisburg, PA 17105 RE: The tariff classification of textile-covered paperboard storage bins from China Dear Ms. Aldinger: In your letter dated February 12, 2013, you requested a tariff classification ruling. The submitted sample is retail packaged as the “2 Piece Storage Bin Set,” item #9025488. The items are collapsible open-topped boxes constructed of nonwoven textile fabric over paperboard stiffeners. The bin is held to shape by a textile-covered placard fitted in the bottom of the bin. The storage bins each measure 11”L x 8”W x 7-1/2”H and feature a metal grommet on one side so the bins can be moved with ease with one finger. The applicable subheading for the 2 Piece Storage Bin Set will be 6307.90.9889, Harmonized Tariff Schedule of the United States, (HTSUS), which provides for other made up textile articles, other. The rate of duty will be 7% ad valorem. Duty rates are provided for your convenience and are subject to change. The text of the most recent HTSUS and the accompanying duty rates are provided on World Wide Web at http://www.usitc.gov/tata/hts/. The sample will be returned. This ruling is being issued under the provisions of Part 177 of the Customs Regulations (19 C.F.R. 177).
