Miller Street Anaheim, CA 92806 RE: The tariff classification of a laptop computer sleeve Dear Ms. Parks: In your letter dated October 17, 2012, you requested a tariff classification ruling. Your sample will be returned to you. Item number TES606US is a laptop computer sleeve constructed with an outer surface of leather. It is designed to provide storage, protection, organization, and transportation to a laptop computer. The article has one padded interior storage compartment fitted and shaped to contain one laptop. It lacks additional storage capacity for other articles. The opening of the case has a flap with a loop closure. It measures approximately 13.5" (W) x 10" (H) x 1" (D). The applicable subheading for the laptop computer sleeve will be 4202.91.0090, Harmonized Tariff Schedule of the United States (HTSUS), which provides for other containers and cases, with outer surface of leather, other. The rate of duty will be 4.5 percent ad valorem. Duty rates are provided for your convenience and are subject to change.
