Memorial Road Oklahoma City, OK 73114 RE: The tariff classification of a cleaning pad from China Dear Mr. Chowning: In your letter dated April 17, 2012 you requested a classification ruling. You will be importing a cleaning pad. A picture of the item in lieu of a sample was submitted with your request. The pad will be made from 50 percent polyester and 50 percent acrylic felt fabric that is attached to 100 percent polyester microfiber cloth. The layers appear to be sewn together along the perimeter. A polyurethane imitation leather strap is attached to the felt fabric side. The pad has rounded corners. It measures approximately 3 x 3 inches. You state that the cleaning pad is designed for use in cleaning electronic screens such as electronic notebooks, cell phones, electric readers, etc. The applicable subheading for the cleaning pad will be 6307.10.2030, Harmonized Tariff Schedule of the United States (HTSUS), which provides for other made up articles, including dress patterns: floorcloths, dishcloths, dusters and similar cleaning cloths: other… other. The duty rate will be 5.3 percent ad valorem. Duty rates are provided for your convenience and are subject to change.
