N195818 December 13, 2011 CLA-2-29:OT:RR:NC:2:238 CATEGORY: Classification TARIFF NO.: 2925.29.2000 Ms. Inge Forstenzer Ren-Pharm International, Ltd 350 Jericho Turnpike, Suite 204 Jericho, NY 11735 RE: The tariff classification of Guanfacine (CAS# 29110-47-2) in bulk powder form, from Spain Dear Ms. Forstenzer: In your letter dated December 1, 2011, you requested a tariff classification ruling. The subject product, Guanfacine, is a centrally acting antihypertensive with a2-adrenoceptor agonist properties. It is indicated for the management of hypertension. Guanfacine may be given alone or in combination with other antihypertensive agents, especially thiazide-type diuretics. The applicable subheading for the Guanfacine in bulk powder form will be 2925.29.2000, Harmonized Tariff Schedule of the United States (HTSUS), which provides for “Carboxyimide-function compounds (including saccharin and its salts) and imine-function compounds: Imides and their derivatives; salts thereof: Imines and their derivatives; salts thereof: Other: Aromatic: Other: Drugs.” Pursuant to General Note 13, HTSUS, the rate of duty will be free. Duty rates are provided for your convenience and are subject to change.
