Avenue Jamaica, NY 11413 RE: The tariff classification of a Roll-Up Ironing Pad from Taiwan Dear Ms. Trimble: In your letter dated June 14, 2011, you requested a tariff classification ruling on behalf of your client, Polder Incorporated of Oxford, Connecticut. Although your letter mentions a sample, you submitted only a picture of the product you call a Roll-Up Ironing Pad. The ironing pad is made up of cotton woven fabric with a rubber backing; this type of construction is considered a textile fabric for tariff purposes. The ironing pad measures 29” L x 22” W. The ironing pad is to be used on a flat surface; the rubber will prevent the pad from slipping while in use. When not in use, the ironing pad can be rolled up and secured with a toggle closure. The applicable subheading for the Roll-Up Ironing Pad will be 6307.90.9889, Harmonized Tariff Schedule of the United States (HTSUS), which provides for other made up textile articles, other. The rate of duty will be 7% ad valorem. Duty rates are provided for your convenience and are subject to change.
