One Claiborne Avenue HQ2 7th Floor North Bergen, NJ 07047 RE: The tariff classification of jewelry pouches from India Dear Ms. Padron: In your letter dated October 4, 2010, you requested a tariff classification ruling. Your samples will be returned to you. Style JLR5364 consists of three jewelry pouches of various sizes. They are constructed with an outer surface of 100% cotton textile material. The bags are designed to provide storage, protection, portability and organization to jewelry. Each bag has one unlined storage compartment with a drawstring closure. They are of the kind intended to be given to a consumer of jewelry at the point of purchase. The pouches are of a durable construction and suitable for repetitive use. The small pouch measures approximately 3.25” (W) x 5” (L). The medium pouch measures approximately 5” (W) x 7” (L). The large pouch measures approximately 8.25” (W) x 10” (H). The applicable subheading for the pouches will be 4202.92.6091, Harmonized Tariff Schedule of the United States (HTSUS), which provides for other bags and containers, with outer surface of textile materials, of cotton, other. The duty rate will be 6.3 percent ad valorem. Duty rates are provided for your convenience and are subject to change. This ruling is being issued under the provisions of Part 177 of the Customs Regulations (19 C.F.R. 177).
