Broad Street Philadelphia, PA 19112 RE: The tariff classification of ceramic square salad plates from China. Dear Ms. Root: In your letter dated August 24, 2010, on behalf of Big Lots Stores, Inc., you requested a tariff classification ruling. You have submitted samples of two ceramic square salad plates as follows: Item #BA100412S Brown Glaze Stoneware Square Salad Plate, measuring 7.75” x 7.75” Item #BC100412S Reactive Glaze Stoneware Square Salad Plate, measuring 8” x 8” Please note that one sample was received in a broken condition. Your samples are being returned as requested. The applicable subheading for the ceramic square salad plates will be 6912.00.4810, Harmonized Tariff Schedule of the United States (HTSUS), which provides for “Ceramic tableware, kitchenware… other than of porcelain or china: Tableware and kitchenware: Other… Suitable for food or drink contact.” The rate of duty will be 9.8% ad valorem. Duty rates are provided for your convenience and are subject to change.
