Ste. 200 Lewisville, TX 75057 RE: The tariff classification of an outdoor “Children at Play Warning Sign” from China Dear Ms. Jedlicka: In your letter dated November 11, 2008, you requested a tariff classification ruling. You submitted an electronic request for an outdoor “Children at Play Warning Sign”. The sign has cloth reflective strips. It is 24 inches tall, four-sided, made of polyester material with a flat wire frame and approximately three pounds of steel ball bearing sewn into the corners for added weight. It will be used as a warning sign on residential streets to warn drivers that children are at play. The sign has the word “CAUTION” printed near the top (beneath the reflective strip), a silhouette of children playing printed in the middle and the words “CHILDREN PLAYING” printed near the bottom. The applicable subheading for the outdoor “Children at Play Warning Sign” will be 4911.99.8000, Harmonized Tariff Schedule of the United States (HTSUS), which provides for other (non-enumerated) printed matter. The rate of duty will be Free. Duty rates are provided for your convenience and are subject to change. This ruling is being issued under the provisions of Part 177 of the Customs Regulations (19 C.F.R. 177).
