Hollis The Container Store 500 Freeport Parkway Coppell, TX 75019 RE: The tariff classification of locker organizers from China Dear Mr. Hollis: In your letter dated March 4, 2008, you requested a tariff classification ruling. You submitted photos of three organizers identified as SKU # 10047371 - Locker Pencil Bin, SKU # 10047372 – Locker Organizer Bin, and SKU # 10047373 – Locker Vanity Bin. These organizers are designed to be used on steel lockers, filing cabinets or other metal surfaces. They will be easily attached by a magnet on the back of the item. You state in your letter that the organizers are constructed of paperboard covered with recycled coated paper. The photos show a circular pencil bin, a three compartment organizing bin, and a vanity bin with mirror. The organizers are brightly colored in an exterior floral design with a coordinating solid color interior. The applicable subheading for the locker organizers will be 4823.90.8600, Harmonized Tariff Schedule of the United States (HTSUS), which provides for other (non-enumerated) articles of paper or paperboard. The rate of duty will be Free. Duty rates are provided for your convenience and are subject to change.
