N016930 September 12, 2007 CLA-2-42:RR:NC:N3:341 CATEGORY: Classification TARIFF NO.: 4202.92.4500 Diana Cachia Action Customs Expeditors, Inc. 115 Christopher Columbus Drive Jersey City, NJ 07302 RE: The tariff classification of a tote bag from China Dear Ms. Cachia: In your letter dated September 6, 2007, on behalf of Chateau International, you requested a tariff classification ruling. The samples which you submitted are being returned as requested. Style RD23077 is a tote bag constructed with an outer surface of polyvinyl chloride (PVC) plastic sheeting. The bag is designed to provide storage, protection, portability, and organization to clothing and other personal effects during travel. It features one shoulder strap, one large textile-lined interior storage compartment, two interior pouch pockets, one interior zippered pocket, and an open top with one snap closure. It measures approximately 14” (W) x 16” (H) x 5” (W). The applicable subheading for the tote bag will be 4202.92.4500, Harmonized Tariff Schedule of the United States (HTSUS), which provides for travel, sport, and similar bags, with outer surface of plastic sheeting material, other. The rate of duty will be 17.6% ad valorem. Duty rates are provided for your convenience and are subject to change.
