Box 988 Warren, PA 16365 RE: The tariff classification of lanyards from China Dear Ms. Sampson: In your letter dated August 10, 2007, you requested a tariff classification ruling. The submitted samples are lanyards. They are 24” to 26” in length and are constructed of woven nylon fabric. They feature plastic clasps that allow them to be opened and closed. Each lanyard has an attached textile cord with a lock-tight sliding ball that is used for tightening around a beverage holder. You indicate that certain styles also have a plastic buckle to enable the removal of the beverage holder from the lanyard without taking the lanyard off the wearer’s neck. The applicable subheading for the lanyards will be 6307.90.9889, Harmonized Tariff Schedule of the United States (HTSUS), which provides for other made up textile articles, other. The rate of duty will be 7% ad valorem. Duty rates are provided for your convenience and are subject to change. This ruling is being issued under the provisions of Part 177 of the Customs Regulations (19 C.F.R. 177).
