Box 1199 Williston, VT 05495 RE: The tariff classification of a key ring from China Dear Ms. Ramsey: In your letter dated July 11, 2007, you requested a tariff classification ruling on a key ring. A sample of the key ring was submitted for our review. The sample provided with your letter is identified as the Butterfly Keychain, item number 59900. It consists of an iron split wire ring attached by one inch of iron chain to a butterfly with colorful stained glass wings in an iron frame. The butterfly measures approximately 2 5/8 inches in length by 2 1/4 inches in width by 1/8 inch in height. You indicate that the Butterfly Keychain is great for holding car, house or office keys. The applicable subheading for the Butterfly Keychain will be 7326.20.0070, Harmonized Tariff Schedule of the United States (HTSUS), which provides for other articles of iron or steel, articles of iron or steel wire, other. The rate of duty will be 3.9 percent ad valorem. Duty rates are provided for your convenience and are subject to change. This ruling is being issued under the provisions of Part 177 of the Customs Regulations (19 C.F.R. 177).
