Dear Ms. Ramos: In your letter dated May 24, 2007, you requested a classification ruling for a woman’s knit T-shirt pack. The submitted sample, Style # PP 369858, is a woman’s T-shirt pack. This pack consists of 2 T-shirts, which are identical except for color. Each garment is constructed from 100% cotton knit fabric. The garment weighs less than 200 grams per square meter and features a round neckline, short hemmed sleeves, a screen-printed design on the front panel, and a straight hemmed bottom. We are returning your samples as you requested. The applicable subheading for each T-shirt in the pack, covered by Style PP 369858, will be 6109.10.0040, Harmonized Tariff Schedule of the United States (HTSUS), which provides for women’s or girls’ T-shirts, singlets, tank tops and similar garments, knitted or crocheted, of cotton, women’s or girls, other, T-shirts, women’s. The rate of duty will be 16.5% ad valorem. Duty rates are provided for your convenience and are subject to change. Each T-shirt comprising Style PP 369858 falls within textile category 339. With the exception of certain products of China, quota/visa requirements are no longer applicable for merchandise which is the product of World Trade Organization (WTO) member countries. The textile category number above applies to merchandise produced in non-WTO member-countries. Quota and visa requirements are the result of international agreements that are subject to frequent renegotiations and changes.
