Broad Street Philadelphia, PA 19112-1404 RE: The tariff classification of women’s garments from China Dear Mr. Hoffacker: In your letter dated May 14, 2007, you requested a classification ruling on behalf of Sugartown Worldwide Inc. Your samples will be returned as requested. Submitted sample, style #66228, is a woman’s blouse constructed from 100% silk woven fabric. The garment is sleeveless and features a collarless wrap front secured by a tie at the waist. Submitted sample, style #66251, is a woman’s upper body garment constructed from 58% cotton and 42% silk woven fabric. The fully lined garment features a square front neckline, approximately one inch wide shoulder straps, and a back zipper with a hook and eye closure. The top back edge is cut straight across from side seam to side seam. Submitted sample, style #66223, is a woman’s suit-type jacket constructed from 100% cotton woven crochet eyelet fabric. The fully lined garment extends from the shoulders to the waist. The garment features a collar, long sleeves, a full front opening secured by a snap closure and a hemmed bottom. The applicable subheading for the style 66228 will be 6206.10.0040, Harmonized Tariff Schedule of the United States (HTSUS), which provides for women’s or girls blouses, shirts and shirt-blouses: of silk or silk waste: other: containing 70 percent or more by weight of silk or silk waste. The duty rate will be 6.9 percent ad valorem. The applicable subheading for the style 66251 will be 6211.42.0081, Harmonized Tariff Schedule of the United States (HTSUS), which provides for track suits, ski-suits and swimwear; other garments: other garments, women’s or girls’: of cotton: other. The duty rate will be 8.1 percent ad valorem. The applicable subheading for the style 66223 will be 6211.42.0075, Harmonized Tariff Schedule of the United States (HTSUS), which provides for track suits, ski-suits and swimwear; other garments: other garments, women’s or girls’: of cotton: jackets and jacket-type garments excluded from heading 6202. The duty rate will be 8.1 percent ad valorem. Duty rates are provided for your convenience and are subject to change. Style 66228 falls within textile category 741; style 66251 falls within textile category 359 and style 66223 falls within textile category 335.
