Dear Ms. Davidson: In your letter dated February 12, 2007, you requested a tariff classification ruling. The submitted illustrations depict stackable transparent drawers made of transparent polypropylene that allows visibility into the drawer. Although the plastic drawers are sized to hold CDs, they can also be used as a place to store art and craft supplies, toiletries, hair accessories or shoes. Several plastic drawers can be stacked together to create storage space in and around the home. The small drawers are identified as SKU number 10040985 and measure 7-1/2” by 16-1/2” by 8-1/2” high. The large drawers are identified as SKU number 10041003 and measure 10-1/2” by 14” by 6-3/4” high. The applicable subheading for the plastic stackable storage containers will be 3924.90.5600, Harmonized Tariff Schedule of the United States (HTSUS), which provides for other household articles and toilet articles, of plastics: Other: Other. The duty rate will be 3.4 percent ad valorem. Duty rates are provided for your convenience and are subject to change.
