Dear Mr. Scharpf: In your letter dated December 22, 2006, you requested a tariff classification ruling. Style 30706 is a men’s garment that is similar to a T-shirt. The garment is identified as a “Ringer Tee” and is constructed from 60% percent cotton, 40% polyester, finely knit jersey fabric that weighs less than 200 grams per square meter. Style 30706 features a rib knit crew neckline; short sleeves with rib knit cuffs; and a straight, hemmed bottom. The applicable subheading for Style 30706 will be 6109.10.0027, Harmonized Tariff Schedule of the United States (HTSUS), which provides for T-shirts, singlets, tank tops, and similar garments, knitted or crocheted: of cotton: men’s or boys’: other. The duty rate will be 16.5% ad valorem. Duty rates are provided for your convenience and are subject to change. With the exception of certain products of China, quota/visa requirements are no longer applicable for merchandise which is the product of World Trade Organization (WTO) member countries. Quota and visa requirements are the result of international agreements that are subject to frequent renegotiations and changes.
