Whitley The Millwork Trading Co., Ltd. 1359 Broadway New York, NY 10018 RE: The tariff classification of a tank top and pullover for girls’ wear from Vietnam Dear Ms. Whitley: In your letter dated August 10, 2006 you requested a classification ruling. Submitted style 301816 is comprised of two garments, each of which is manufactured from light-weight, jersey fabric of 100% cotton. One of these garments is a long-sleeved, boat-necked, sequined garment. Sewn by means of flimsy stitching into each underarm of this garment is the other garment, a tank top. As you have requested, both of the garments of this style are being returned. The applicable subheading for the tank top of this style will be 6109.10.0065, Harmonized Tariff Schedule of the United States (HTSUS), which provides for …tank tops and similar garments, knitted…of cotton, …girls’, other, tank tops, girls’; and for the other garment of this style will be 6110.20.2079, HTSUS, which provides for …pullovers…and similar articles, knitted…of cotton, other, other, other, …girls’, other. The duty rates will be 16.5 per cent ad valorem for both of the garments. Duty rates are provided for your convenience and are subject to change.
