Whitley The Millwork Trading Co., Ltd. 1359 Broadway, 21st Floor New York, NY 10018 RE: The tariff classification of a woman’s cardigan from Indonesia Dear Ms. Whitley: In your letter dated August 3, 2006, you requested a classification ruling. Your sample is being returned as requested. The submitted sample, style number H3875S7, is a woman’s cut and sewn cardigan that is constructed from 95% cotton, 5% spandex knit fabric. The outer surface of the fabric measures more than 9 stitches per 2 centimeters in the direction that the stitches were formed. The garment features a ribbed mock collar, long sleeves with ribbed cuffs, a full front opening with a zipper closure, two front inset slant zippered pockets at the waist, and a loose-fitting ribbed bottom. The applicable subheading for the cardigan will be 6110.20.2079, Harmonized Tariff Schedule of the United States (HTSUS), which provides for sweaters…and similar articles, knitted: of cotton: other…other: women’s. The duty rate will be 16.5% ad valorem. Duty rates are provided for your convenience and are subject to change.
