Box 9000 Gurnee, Illinois 60031-9000 RE: The tariff classification of organza ribbon from China Dear Ms. Quinn: In your letter dated June 14, 2006, you requested a tariff classification ruling. The submitted sample is a length of organza ribbon that is identified as Item No. RIB06/BS12. It measures approximately 1”W x 50”L. You state that each end is heat cut on the diagonal prior to importation and is made of 100% nylon textile fabric. You indicate that the ribbon is intended to be tied around a gift set in its condition as imported, with no further processing. The applicable subheading for the organza ribbon will be 6307.90.9889, Harmonized Tariff Schedule of the United States (HTSUS), which provides for other made up textile articles, other. The rate of duty will be 7% ad valorem. Duty rates are provided for your convenience and are subject to change. The text of the most recent HTSUS and the accompanying duty rates are provided on World Wide Web at http://www.usitc.gov/tata/hts/. The sample will be returned as requested. This ruling is being issued under the provisions of Part 177 of the Customs Regulations (19 C.F.R. 177).
