Dear Ms. De Silva: In your letter dated March 31, 2006, you requested a classification ruling for a woman’s beach robe. The sample will be returned, as requested. Style 309611 is a woman’s beach robe constructed from 80 percent cotton, 20 percent polyester knit terry fabric. The knee-length robe has a hood, a full front opening with a zipper closure, short sleeves, patch pockets at the waist area, and a plain, hemmed bottom. The applicable subheading for the style 309611 will be 6108.91.0030, Harmonized Tariff Schedule of the United States (HTSUS), which provides for women's ...bathrobes and similar articles, knitted or crocheted: of cotton. The rate of duty will be 8.5 percent ad valorem. Duty rates are provided for your convenience and are subject to change.
