Box 58710 Seattle, WA 98138 RE: The tariff classification of a pair of men’s pants from China. Dear Ms. Monahan: In your letter dated February 23, 2006, you requested a tariff classification ruling. As requested, your sample will be returned. Style M4W0232 is a pair of men’s pants constructed from 53% silk, 47% cotton, woven twill fabric. The pants have a flat waistband with six belt loops; a zippered fly front opening with a button closure at the waistband; double pleats on the front panels; quarter pockets at each side; two rear welt pockets with button closures; and overlock stitching at the unfinished leg openings. The applicable subheading for the Style M4W0232 will be 6203.49.8045, Harmonized Tariff Schedule of the United States (HTSUS), which provides for men’s or boys’ suits, ensembles, suit type-jackets, blazers, trousers, bib and brace overalls, breeches and shorts (other than swimwear): of other textile materials: other: trousers and breeches: other. The rate of duty is 2.8% ad valorem. Duty rates are provided for your convenience and are subject to change.
