NY M81239 April 3, 2006 CLA-2-62:RR:NC:TA:357 M81239 CATEGORY: Classification TARIFF NO.: 6201.92.2051 Ms. Maristella Iacobello Phillips-Van Heusen Corp. 200 Madison Ave. New York, NY 10016 RE: The tariff classification of men’s shirt-styled jackets from Bangladesh Dear Ms. Iacobello: In your letter dated March 10, 2006, you requested a classification ruling. Samples were submitted and are being returned as you requested. The first item, style 4551548, has a shell made from a woven 100% cotton canvas fabric. The jacket has a full front opening secured by a seven-button closure, long sleeves with vented, buttoned cuffs, button-through chest pockets, side seam pockets at the waist, elbow patches, a suede pointed collar, side vents and a back seam and a full lining diamond-quilted to a nonwoven batting. The applicable subheading for style 455148 will be 6201.92.2051, Harmonized Tariff Schedule of the United States (HTSUS), which provides for other men’s anoraks (including ski-jackets), windbreakers and similar articles, of cotton. The duty rate will be 9.4 percent ad valorem. We are unable to issue a ruling on the second item, style 4551549, because the sample does not conform to the specifications you described. Please provide a sample made according to specifications. Duty rates are provided for your convenience and are subject to change.
