Dear Mr. Nagel: In your letter dated November 22, 2005 you requested a classification ruling for a woman’s robe. The garment will be returned as requested. Style JNPK is a woman’s robe constructed from 60 percent cotton, 40 percent rayon knit fabric. The robe has a full front opening with interior ties, ¾ length sleeves, and a plain, hemmed bottom. The garment also has a self-fabric belt. The applicable subheading for the robe will be 6108.91.0030, Harmonized Tariff Schedule of the United States (HTS), which provides for Bathrobes…knitted or crocheted: Of cotton. The duty rate will be 8.5 percent ad valorem. Duty rates are provided for your convenience and are subject to change. The text of the most recent HTSUS and the accompanying duty rates are provided on World Wide Web at http://www.usitc.gov/tata/hts/. The robe falls within textile category designation 350. Quota and visa status are the result of international agreements that are subject to frequent renegotiations and changes.
