Box 1199 Williston, VT 05495 RE: The tariff classification of an organizer from China Dear Ms. Marcoux: In your letter dated October 24, 2005, you requested a tariff classification ruling. The submitted sample is identified as a “Hanging Store & Go Organizer” (Item #52380). Its exterior is constructed of nylon textile fabric with polyester trim. You indicate that the organizer is intended to store toiletries, cosmetics, jewelry, hair accessories, light tools, etc. It measures approximately 29½”L x 18¼”W (excluding its rope hanger) and features seven pockets, five of which are removable. There is a rope hanger and a hook-and-loop fastener that facilitate hanging or the organizer can be mounted directly on a wall, cabinet, or shelf. The applicable subheading for the Hanging Store & Go Organizer will be 6307.90.9889, Harmonized Tariff Schedule of the United States (HTS), which provides for other made up textile articles, other. The rate of duty will be 7 percent ad valorem. This ruling is being issued under the provisions of Part 177 of the Customs Regulations (19 C.F.R. 177).
